Call for IFS Applicants from the Volta Basin |
In a joint initiative with the CGIAR Challenge Program on Water and Food, the IFS is calling for researchers interested in working in teams on topics related to linkages between water management, food production, poverty, and the environment.
This recruitment will support ongoing research activities related to the use and management of small reservoirs and small reservoir ensembles. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work in partnership with others from different research backgrounds and with senior researchers from many regional and international research institutions including the International Institute for Water and Environmental Engineering (2iE) and Centre régional pour l'eau potable et l'assainissement (CREPA); Burkina Faso; the International Water Management Institute, Ghana; the TU Delft University, Netherlands, and the Institute for Research and Development (IRD), France.
Applicants must be from one of the 6 countries of the Volta River Basin: Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Mali, and Togo; preferably under the age of 40; and not currently associated with a CGIAR research center (please refer to IFS age criteria on the IFS website). We welcome especially applications from female researchers.
Applicants should be interested in working as part of a bilingual (French and English) international and multidisciplinary research team.
Applicants will apply for individual research grants according to standard IFS procedures.

Applicants applying to this special IFS call must complete all application procedures according to the standard process established and administered by IFS. The application process for IFS is explained on this webpage. Although IFS encourages researchers to work in teams, all applicants will prepare individual applications, each of which will be evaluated on its own merits.

Important notice: The last date to submit abstracts in consideration for participation in the November 19 – 21 preparation Workshop date in Ouagadougou was 31 August. Abstracts will no longer be accepted for the Workshop.
